Our Vision

Turning faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children, and youth around the world.

Our Mission

United Women in Faith seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that they can inspire, influence, and impact local and global communities.

Our Local Purpose

To be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

We believe love in action can change the world.

  • We have opportunities for membership both within our local churches and individual membership “all access” as a way to help women connect with other women around areas of justice, soul care, and spiritual growth.
  • Through our partnership with Faith Action Network, Legislative Advocacy events, our ongoing work addressing our Charter for Racial Justice, and our focus on justice issues such as breaking the school-to-prison pipeline, maternal health, food insecurity, climate care and more, we continue to be challenged to ask the “hard questions” and take action individually, locally and globally.
  • We support our ministry with women and children through pledged “Mission Giving” throughout the year. Additionally, we promote “Legacy Giving” as an endowment that will assure that leadership development within this organization, which has been vital to the entire church for over 154 years, will continue to make a difference in the future.
  • Leadership Development and Education for the Transformation of our world at the local, district, conference, and national level is ongoing through an ever-increasing array of opportunities such as Annual Gatherings, Spiritual Growth Retreats, participation in the Reading Program, Faith Talk Webinars, Response Magazine, Daily Prayer Guide, Mighty Networks, Assembly and Jurisdiction Gatherings every four years.
  • Our role in supporting our annual “Mission u” in a cooperative manner with our Conference Board of Global Ministries provides a transformative educational opportunity for all adults, children, and youth.
  • We have members actively participating on the boards of both of our National Mission Institutions within our own conference…Atlantic Street Center and Tacoma Community House. In this way, we are kept up to date on the services and needs of these organizations “close to home.”
