Wenatchee First UMC: P/T Praise Team Music Leader

Wenatchee First UMC seeks to hire a musician to perform with and lead our praise team for Sunday morning worship teams. This position is part time with 5 hours allotted each week for planning, rehearsal and Sunday morning responsibilities. This position works with the lead pastor, choir director, and accompanist. FUMC seeks a candidate who can help us expand worship and music ministries with children and youth. Good planning and communication skills are essential in addition to musical abilities and team building.

Starting rate is $25/hour.

Marysville UMC: P/T AV/Tech Production Engineer

Marysville United Methodist Church in Marysville, Washington, is seeking applicants for a part-time position of AV/Tech Production Engineer to support its in-person worship services and live streaming. AV/Tech Production Engineer

  • Planning, monitoring, and maintenance of projection and sound for in-person worship services and planning, monitoring and maintenance of video and sound services for live streaming of two Sunday worship services
  • Lead, organize, and train team of tech volunteers
  • Run tech for Praise Band rehearsal on Tuesday evenings
  • Review worship video weekly to maintain quality
  • Participate in weekly worship design meeting.
  • Position reports to Music Director and Senior Pastor.

  • Preliminary set up and design work required will be paid at hourly rate beyond the contracted 6-8 hours per week.

Systems Specifications

  • Current set up is 12 mics and 3 cameras.
  • Software includes vMix, Proclaim, Canva, and GoogleDocs
  • Projection is two projectors, one screen. Church would like to replace these with flatscreen monitors

Compensation

Primary responsibilities would require an estimated 6-8 hours per week, at a range from $30 – $45 per hour. For extra services and hours requested during Easter and Christmas, contractor will be paid at agreed upon hourly rate.

First UMC (Auburn, WA): P/T Bookkeeper

Auburn First United Methodist Church (auburnfirstumc.org) is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our staff team. The ideal candidate will be detail orientated and skilled in tracking and recording expenditures, transfers of funds, compiling reports, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Primary duties will include: Record all transaction expenditures & revenue; Prepare, coordinate signing, and mail and distribute checks; Produce financial reports (i.e. budget to actual, balance sheets, profit & loss); maintain accurate general ledger & designated accounts; fact-checking accounting data; create payroll and file all payroll related taxes; prepare & distribute all W2s and end of year reconciliations; track all savings account CDs; file quarterly and annual reports as needed;

And notify treasurer, supervisor, and pastor of any errors.

Qualifications for this Position include: Associate’s Degree or significant related work experience; excellent data entry skills and payroll accounting skills; detail orientated and ability to work with or without supervision; exceptional organizational skill; experience and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet multiple deadlines at the same time; maintain confidential information; and excellent written and oral communication skills in conveying complex data in a clear way.

All staff will successfully pass a background check and complete ongoing Safe Sanctuary® training as prescribed by the United Methodist Church.

Details of this Position 

Compensation: $24-27 per hour; Paid Time Off;
Work Schedule: 10-12 hours/week.  Work schedule to be self-determined in coordination with Pastor.

This position will work 20 hours per week: Sunday-Thursday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. The compensation rate is $20-24 based on experience and skill. During the initial 90-day probation period compensation is set at $20 and will be reevaluated at the end of the period.

Mount Vernon First UMC: P/T Pianist/Accompanist

MVFUMC seeks a pianist and music accompanist to work with Pastor and worship committee to provide music for weekly Sunday morning worship services. The job involves coordinating with the Pastor and the worship team to select music for each service. The pianist provides piano accompaniment for hymns for worship service, prelude, offertory, short postlude and music during communion service on first Sunday of the month as well as accompanies the choir or other musicians providing special music.

The church hopes to recruit a cadre of pianists willing to work one or two Sunday services per month. It is not necessary for an interested applicant to commit to providing services every Sunday.

Primary duties include:

  • Provide piano accompaniment for Sunday worship services
  • Coordinate with Pastor in planning and preparation of selected music
  • Accompany adult choir on Sundays which choir sings.
  • Accompany periodic special musicians

Weekly schedule anticipates a phone call or visit with Pastor or worship committee member during the week to discuss songs for the upcoming Sunday; as well as preparing and playing for church service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on scheduled Sunday. Pay is $150 per service.

Woodinville Bear Creek UMC: P/T Youth, Children, and Family Coordinator

As our Children and Families Ministry Coordinator, you would be responsible for putting together programing for the youth, children, and young families of our church family. Most of this programming is currently done on Sunday mornings from 9-noon. This job would include managing the nursery, doing the major teaching points for our children’s church, and managing two nursery workers. Other responsibilities would be: working with the parents of our children to build a vibrant and growing ministry; communicating with our families effectively; building up a vital volunteer program for our children and family ministry; working with the pastor and other staff to work effectively together; plan and implement effective outreach events such as VBS, Trunk or Treat, and our Easter Egg Hunt; and encourage the spiritual development of our children. This job will work 5-10 hours per week to build a strong Children and Family program that encompasses Sunday school (Kids Connection) and weeknight programming.

Responsibilities

  • Support Sunday school programming.
  • Create, plan, and run Camp Summit (monthly activity-based family event) programming for children and youth.
  • Meet with Family Council, which includes parents, grandparents, volunteers, and other staff.
  • Special events planning and support (Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Pageant, Parents Night Out, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Competence with children through grade 12.
  • Good communication skills required.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Understanding of the impact of neurological difference and/or willingness to learn.
  • Must pass a background check, achieve a passing score on Sexual Abuse Awareness Training, and be able to comply with our Safe Sanctuaries Policy.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and live locally.
  • Some work can be done remotely, but some work is necessarily in person.
