In the Pacific Northwest Conference, our Hispanic Ministries Committee works to connect with existing local churches, fellowships, and new church starts to lift up the unique needs of Hispanic communities, networking them to grow stronger together. Our work is focused on three major areas:

As we continue to work in the Pacific Northwest Conference, we are sensing an emerging vision for collaboration across the Greater Northwest Area shaped by the values of Respect, Love, Community, and Justice.

Hispanic/Latinx Mentorship

In 2029 we developed a Mentorship Program to accompany individuals who are in the process toward ministry as Hispanic/Latinx Lay Missioners, Hispanic/Latinx Lay Ministers, Local Pastors, Deacons in Full Connection, or Elders within our United Methodist connection.

The role of a mentor is essential. Many candidates struggle to move forward in the process due to the lack of adequate support—particularly from people who understand their culture, speak their language, and are familiar with the ministerial process. (Read more)

We are excited to introduce a new service from the Hispanic/Latinx Ministries of the Greater Northwest Episcopal Area: Grant Writing Consulting Services!

The purpose of this offering is to help local ministries and community programs access financial resources from UMC general agencies, nonprofit organizations, and government funding opportunities. These grants can strengthen the programs and services we provide to our communities.
