URGENT: Volunteers needed for flood clean-up!
By Jim Truitt

Homes, families need volunteers for Grays Harbor County-wide clean-up after devastating flood.

Many homes in Hoquiam and Aberdeen were flooded or inundated with mud three weeks ago. The survivors are requesting help with the muck out and clean up (see photos).

The Washington Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (WAVOAD) has put out a general call for volunteers. This work is often strenuous and always dirty. By now, most of the homes will have mold growth that will require remediation.

The PNW UMVIM Disaster Response Team has volunteered to train responders in the proper techniques and safety measures involved in cleaning out flooded homes. If you can volunteer to help, please contact
