I’m conflicted about this decision, but even more so – the process. How and why could there be no discussion on the floor around such an important change to the discipline? It’s just baffling to me.
There was a short conversation later in the day whether the body wanted to discuss the issue in more depth and the vote of the General Conference was to not do this.
For a seismic shift like this it certainly does feel baffling.
