Clark County Methodist Youth Cooperative – P/T Director

Job Description
The staff of the church are in partnership with the pastor when it comes to being the public face of United Methodist Churches in Clark County. Must understand the balance between working with congregation members in volunteer roles, working with the families of our churches, and facilitating communication between those groups of people. This person would help our Clark County UMC churches to create, maintain, and develop relationships with congregation families, congregational youth, and community partners.
Salary and Benefit Information
- Salaried at 20 hours a week (80/month) at $35/hour
- During the year: 4 weeks of Paid Time Off (including paid: holidays, sick or vacation leave)
- During the summer: 1 week on a service project/mission trip (counts for 80 hrs of work)
Typical work week schedule
- 2 hr : Sunday morning attendance at a church/Fellowship Hour
- 2-3 hr: Sunday afternoon youth event of sorts
- 5 hr: communication, emailing, texting, social media, website
- 5 hr: face to face time with youth at mid week event with youth or third party event
- 5 hr: FLEX monthly meeting, meet with people during the week, planning/curriculum
Duties
- Scheduling and leading events for families and youth of Clark County UMC Churches
- Work with Office Managers for website/social media updates
- Maintain a database of volunteers for youth and Sunday school ministries
- Creation of tasks for volunteers of parents and church members
- Curriculum development for youth ministry (ages 11-18)
- Participate in and facilitate connections with youth events that are district, conference, interdenominational, and UMC camps.
- Helps maintain UMC’s “Safe Sanctuary Policy” with training volunteers
- Gather appropriate health and participation forms for events on and off campus
Working Relationships
- Works directly and is supervised with the board of the Clark County UMC Youth Collective.
- Will be mentored
- Work with volunteers to help with events and programs.
