UMVIM can help your church do more

Hello — my name is Tracy Faulkner, PNW United Methodist Volunteer in Mission

(UMVIM) Volunteer Coordinator. This message is for Senior Pastors, Associates, Youth Directors, and parishioners across the PNW conferences.

If you’re not familiar with UMVIM, or you’ve never reached out to learn how it can serve your congregation, please keep reading. Even if your church already has active outreach, consider how partnering with UMVIM might extend your impact.

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • It’s hard to start outreach because everyone’s already busy.
  • You lack people to lead mission efforts.
  • You don’t know who needs help or how to find them.
  • Your congregation is too small to staff a team.
  • Your building needs repair, and outreach feels overwhelming.

I can help. Here’s what I offer:

  • Connect you with existing teams so you don’t need to recruit alone.
  • Help three or more churches in your district brainstorm and plan joint projects.
  • Guide you to our mission catalog to identify local and regional needs.
  • Train someone in your congregation to lead a UMVIM team.
  • Help you arrange mission teams to come and help with building repairs.
  • Publicize openings on established teams so smaller churches can send participants.

I’m connected with UMVIM coordinators across the Western Jurisdiction; we meet monthly to share resources and respond to emerging needs and disasters. If you have questions or want help getting started, please email me—I’m here to support your congregation and outreach.
