Western Jurisdiction Archives & History Conference

With a warm aloha, greetings from the Western Jurisdiction Commission on Archives and History! We would like to invite you to join us for an exciting convocation, hosted by the Hawaii District & the Cal-Pac Annual Conference, September 8-11, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii. It’s been over 20 years since the gathering was held in Hawaii.

Our theme is Stories in Hawaiian Methodism. This event is designed to highlight the cultural diversity of Hawaii,

Methodist involvement in the overthrow of the nation of Hawaii by the U.S. government, and the work of the Cal-Pac Conference Acts of Repentance Committee. A recent resolution was submitted at the last General Conference.

We have some exciting field trips planned: the Plantation Village in Waipahu and the Susannah Wesley Community Center in Kalihi. We will also learn about historic ethnic congregations in the Hawaii District. One evening we will honor Christ UMC as a UMC Historical Site and on another we’ll visit First UMC Honolulu, the lightning rod of historic Methodism in Honolulu. Our time together also promises to have opportunities for fellowship and to connect with one another across our Jurisdiction.

• The registration fee is $195. Registration includes:
  • three lunches and dinners (breakfasts on your own) o daily snacks o transportation to/from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport upon request. o transportation to/from the field trip sites from the hotel o entrance fees for field trips
• Hotel accommodations are at the Ala Moana Hotel. You will need to register separately.

  • Rates are $179 – $249 a night depending on the room size.
  • The group rates apply also three days prior to the event and three days after the event.
  • The deadline to register for the group rate is August 10. After that date, the room rates increase.
• If you can’t attend in person, you may join virtually for the session, but not field trips. The fee is $25.
