Auburn First UMC: P/T Pianist

Auburn First United Methodist Church is looking for an experienced pianist for traditional worship. The right person would be able to play hymns on the piano, and possibly the organ, and be able to accompany a choir on a variety of anthem styles. 

Initially, the position is 4 hours a week allowing for time to select appropriate music, practice, warm-up and play for a 10:30 am (Summer schedule) every other week or 11:00 am (Fall-Spring) every week traditional service.

When choir resumed hours per week increased to six. Choir practices take place on Wednesday evenings and choir warm-ups on Sunday mornings before 11:00 am worship. 

Candidates should select a piece of their choosing to perform and then they will be asked to play a hymn chosen by the interview committee.

Salary based on skill level.

Salary is between $7280-$15600 a year.

Ocean Park Camp and Retreat Center seeks applicants for Camp Director 

The Pacific Northwest Conference of The United Methodist Church is seeking a new Director to join the camp management team at our Ocean Park Camp and Retreat Center. 

Located in Ocean Park, Washington, on the Southwest Washington coast, Ocean Park Camp and Retreat Center accommodates up to 220 in a variety of accommodations and provides over 100 acres and 2000 feet of pristine Pacific Ocean waterfront, sand dunes, and evergreen forest. The Long Beach Peninsula is a very popular beach community and recreational destination featuring world-class fishing, seafood, and hosting many events and festivals throughout the year such as international Kite and Sandcastle Festivals.

Ideal candidates will be committed Christians theologically consistent with The United Methodist Church, with a demonstrated passion for leading others to experience community and engage with creation. Full-time leadership experience in a similar nonprofit camp or retreat facility, preferably at the director level is desired. Other related experience in hospitality or management will be considered.  Responsibilities include seasonal and year-round staffing, hosting of guest groups, program leadership, financial oversight, property management/maintenance, fundraising, and daily responsibility for all essential functions and administration of the camp. 

The position is salaried full-time year-round. Housing/utilities for Director and family provided, health insurance, participation in United Methodist pension program (UMPIP).

Grace UMC (Seattle, WA): P/T Pianist/Vocalist

Grace UMC is a small primarily African American congregation in Seattle, Washington.  We are a neighborhood church that glorifies God, knows and cares about each other and welcomes God’s children into His house. Currently, we are worshipping using the hybrid model of Zoom and in church together. We continue to follow all safety guidelines for faith communities and public gathering places provided by the wider United Methodist Church, CDC and local health authorities.

Covington: Cornerstone United Methodist Church Searching for 3 Summer interns for Children & Youth Ministry 

We are looking for applicants who are willing to work with our church ministry team this summer to help in offering exciting and consistent ministries to children, youth and adults at Cornerstone Church and in the local Covington/Maple Valley area. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a willingness to engage in different areas and forms of ministry is a “must” during this unique season of social distancing.

This Summer we will be hiring three interns, each with a “specialized ministry focus” of either High School youth, Middle School youth , or Children’s Ministries.

  • Hours: Interns will work 20-25 hours per week each, depending on programming for the week.
  • Age: Children’s Ministries: at least High School Graduate (or to be 2022) Middle School: at least two years out of High School High School: at least two years out of High School
  • Length: The applicant will work for 10-12 weeks, ideally Mid-June though the end of August, but this can be negotiated based on college schedules.
  • Compensation: Interns receive a salaried monthly stipend.
  • Supervisors: Children’s Ministry Director Karen Kirkman, Interim Youth Director Felicia Johnson. There may also be opportunities to occasionally work under supervision of Pastor.

This internship at Cornerstone seeks to provide opportunities to:

The AUMC Children, Youth and Family Ministry Director position is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. This position develops programming for children, youth and families both within our church and our community. This position is the key connection for families, youth and the church, so they must be warm, approachable and open.  

The AUMC Choir Director and Accompanist position is a part-time position averaging 15 hours per week. This position’s prime responsibility is to bring both choral music and traditional hymns into our hybrid worship services.

First UMC of Olympia: F/T Multimedia Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the leadership of VANFUMC to build ministries for children and youth.
  • Coordinate weekly opportunities for ministry with children (ages 6 to 11). At a minimum, these would include age-appropriate classes or activities on Sunday morning.
  • Coordinate weekly opportunities for ministry with youth (ages 12 to 18) that could include classes or discussion groups, fellowship activities, and service opportunities for example.
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteer leadership for programs. 
  • Work with staff to promote and support children’s and youth programs, schedule programs, and coordinate room use.
  • Keep parents informed about and engaged with children and youth ministries. Listen and respond to parental concerns.
  • Be present with children, youth and families on Sunday mornings.
  • Promote programs through church communications including weekly bulletin, emails, social media and personal contacts with church members.
  • Ensure that VANFUMC’s ministries for children and youth adhere to Safe Sanctuary policies.

Hours and compensation:

This is a part-time hourly position (approximately 20 hours per week). Pay rate is $25 per hour. Position is eligible for paid sick, vacation, and holiday leave.

Afghan Refugee Assistance Center at Fairwood Community United Methodist Church

Fairwood Community United Methodist Church, 15255 SE Fairwood Blvd., Renton, WA, is hosting SCM Medical Missions, a Seattle charity, helping with Afghan Refugee resettlement. www.scmmedicalmissions.org   Over 1,900 Afghan refugees have arrived in Washington and 550 more are expected in the coming weeks. Working with SCM, Fairwood hosts a Clothing and Hygiene Center for newly arriving Refugees (those who have been in the US less than a year).
