Seasonal Giving

A Great Gift!

Need an idea for a gift that would make Jesus smile?

Make donations to the Jamaa Letu Orphanages (JLO) as your gifts to relatives and friends. Choose the amounts, any amounts. Donate through your local church, on the Jamaa Letu website, or directly to the PNW Conference (noting that it’s a Christmas gift to JLO). Print a gift card and tuck it into an envelope or gift box. Deliver the gift.

Give a gift of hope with our generic gift card. This card has a text box for adding a greeting on the back, either by hand or in a PDF program like Microsoft Edge or Adobe Acrobat Reader then print it out. Follow the direction above under A Great Gift.

Multiple people will benefit: the children and teens who live in the two orphanages in Africa, the recipient of the gift card who knows that a thoughtful gift to a great project has been made, and you as the donor.

Would like to promote the idea? Print a Christmas poster or generic gift poster. For an article for a newsletter of bulletin, use the three paragraphs under A Great Gift but be sure to include the way to donate to your local church.

If you would like to support Jamaa Letu Orphanages, you can mail your gift to the PNW Treasurer’s Office: P.O. Box 13650, Des Moines, WA 98198. In the memo, indicate “Jamaa Letu Orphanages – Christmas Gift ” or “Jamaa Letu Orphanages – Gift “.

Money collected in these jars will be combined into one offering at the Annual Conference in June. Local United Methodist churches of the Pacific Northwest Conference are invited to support the orphanages of Jamaa Letu in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. Find out more!

Other Gift Giving Opportunities

Two or three times each year the task force provides alternative giving opportunities for individuals, church communities or groups. Previous campaigns have been: mattresses for the new boys’ building, education supplies, and contributions for health expenses.
