SUMMARY:Western Jurisdiction Archives & History Conference
DESCRIPTION:With a warm aloha\, greetings from the Western Jurisdiction Commission on Archives and History! We would like to invite you to join us for an exciting convocation\, hosted by the Hawaii District & the Cal-Pac Annual Conference\, September 8-11\, 2026\, in Honolulu\, Hawaii. It’s been over 20 years since the gathering was held in Hawaii. \nOur theme is Stories in Hawaiian Methodism. This event is designed to highlight the cultural diversity of Hawaii\, \nMethodist involvement in the overthrow of the nation of Hawaii by the U.S. government\, and the work of the Cal-Pac Conference Acts of Repentance Committee. A recent resolution was submitted at the last General Conference. \nWe have some exciting field trips planned: the Plantation Village in Waipahu and the Susannah Wesley Community Center in Kalihi. We will also learn about historic ethnic congregations in the Hawaii District. One evening we will honor Christ UMC as a UMC Historical Site and on another we’ll visit First UMC Honolulu\, the lightning rod of historic Methodism in Honolulu. Registration includes:\n\nthree lunches and dinners (breakfasts on your own) o daily snacks o transportation to/from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport upon request. o transportation to/from the field trip sites from the hotel o entrance fees for field trips\n\n\nHotel accommodations are at the Ala Moana Hotel. After that date\, the room rates increase.\n\n\nIf you can’t attend in person\, you may join virtually for the session\, but not field trips.
