President’s Report<\/strong><\/summary>\n

Greetings Sisters!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January, our Standing Rules Committee of 4 met via Zoom four times as we updated our 2020 version. With three more Zoom meetings lasting 1 \u00bd + hours each, we considered our task completed, & emailed it to our District Team. After feedback, we will be submitting the work to our Conference Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan 6 Our PSMD Leadership Team met via Zoom, planning for our upcoming District Local Leaders Training (LLT) event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan 7 Our Arlington United Church (AUC) Women\u2019s Bible Study resumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan 9 I joined Planet Fitness, just a quarter mile from home, hoping to get back in better shape!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan 10 I participated in our PNW Conference UWF Zoom meeting 9-1 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan 27 our new District Treasurer, Janet Church, & I met at BECU to switch our District\u2019s financial accounts from BoA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jan 29 Had a short District Team Zoom meeting to clarify records for our Treasury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feb 3 Our PSMD Team met via Zoom, continued planning for our LLT, to be held in the Snohomish UMC, with local President Glenda Clemans serving as our local contact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feb 5 watched a webinar \u201cCompassion & Choices; end of Life\u201d, with the National Director of Legislative Advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feb 12 Drove to Olympia for FAN (Faith Action Network) Interfaith Advocacy Day; our new Dist. Secretary, Tricia Bate & I participated in the meetings, & observed the House & Senate in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feb 21 Watched the 7 AM UMC Wesleyan Mission \u201cServe Joyfully\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar 10 PSMD Team Zoom meeting; will have a guest speaker at our LLT!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar 12 Toured our local VOA Community Resources Center in Arlington; The Director will be speaking the 15th in AUC; our local AUC \u201cLunch on Us\u201d Fri. noon meals for homeless\/low-income folks works closely with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar 16 Final Zoom PSMD Team meeting finalizing LLT plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar 21 9 to 3 PM, LLT had Keynote speaker, Anna Broome, a Pastoral Intern at Gig Harbor UMC, sharing \u201cLeadership & Stepping Up\u201d. Had good sharing during breakout sessions. Attendance was around 40; watched a short video about \u201cAssembly 2026 \u201cin Indianapolis, IN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar 28 Attended Bothell\u2019s shortened \u201cSoul Care Retreat\u201d, tying in music & fine arts. Judy Jewell, Beth Bryant, & I attended. Participation was sparce, due to rallies taking place in many communities objecting to the current political scene & the \u2018war\u2019 in the middle east.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar 28  Supported Youth Dynamics by attending their annual fund-raiser \u201cStilly Valley Lockdown\u201d, held in Smokey Point Community Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mar 29 Gave the Children\u2019s Message at AUC, showing pumpkin seeds that were opening like little bird beaks, how sprouts were growing out of the seed, gave samples of toasted pumpkin seeds, & bites of my home-made pumpkin bundt cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr 3 Watched online a Social Justice Brief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr 7 PSMD Team Zoom meeting. Confirmed our Annual Gathering (AG) to be Sat. Sept 26th at Arlington United Church. Bill Pritchard will serve as our Tech guy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apr 18 Plan to participate in the Conference Team Zoom meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will be flying to Indianapolis, Indiana Fri, May 15 for the Quadrennial International UWF Assembly, returning May 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Praying for peace in the world, & healing of those who are hurting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
