Summer Article from the Crest to Coast President<\/strong><\/summary>\n

Greetings from Crest to Coast Missional District!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our District used the first months of 2026 to finish up the directory and sent it out. They are still available for those wishing one; just contact me, Bev Thomas. We then updated our Standing Rules, which will be voted on in the fall. We also have sponsored another retreat with Battle Ground UMC, which will take place September 12, 2026. The theme is \u201cChoosing Joy\u201d, finding God\u2019s purpose in every season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facilitator will be Carol Davies, retired pastor from Fern Prairie UMC. Battle Ground does not have a United Women in Faith unit at this time, so this may help generate interest in the work we do and provide a pleasant day of fellowship and planned activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are now working on our Fall Gathering September 19, 2026, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Shelton, at Shelton UMC<\/strong>. The theme is \u201cDream It, Believe It, Live It\u201d. (Registration Form<\/strong><\/a>) Orchard\u2019s Alliance is one of our presenters; another is still being confirmed. We will celebrate their new Unit started by their President, Kay Richardson, this year. She joined our District last fall and has been a great asset. This new Unit will bring us to ten units. We have not added a unit in years, so this is a big thing for us in Crest to Coast. We will also elect and install new officers for 2027 at this meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have added three new members without Units to our District, and two will be officers in the new year. Four of our officers were able to attend Mission u. Two were leaders, although one was not able to attend in the end as her son had major surgery the week before in Utah. Lazy F was a perfect place to have Mission u. Everyone seemed to love being there, and the sharing and fellowship was just great. So was the weather! There is nothing like a church camp to remind us of our youth camping days years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have really enjoyed my time as President the last four years. It has taught me a lot, and I hope that I am passing on a thriving District with lots of good people with lots of good ideas. While leaving this office, I will be continuing in another capacity. I thank all the folks that I have worked with in the units, the district, and at the conference level for their help and friendship, ones that will last a lifetime. Also, thank you for your kindness and understanding as things don\u2019t always go as planned and life just takes over sometimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President’s Report<\/strong><\/summary>\n

Greetings from Crescent To Coast Missional District, what a beautiful Spring we are having.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are busy, however, working on our Fall Gathering, which will be September 19, 2026, in Shelton, Washington<\/strong>. More information to come in our save-the-date flyer, out soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have welcomed Karen Yaeger as our new appointed Social Action person. She will be officially installed in the position at the Fall Gathering. Karen is a member of our White Salmon Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are excited to have a new unit in Crest To Coast after many years, started by Kay Richardson, the new President at Shelton UMC in Shelton, Washington. Kay recently joined our District board, not having her own unit. She then decided to start her own, and she did. We will celebrate this new unit at our Fall Gathering in Shelton. They will be hosting our event and jumping right into things with both feet. We are so pleased with the enthusiasm they bring and hope this is just a start to new units added to our District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are working to implement the RPMs program in our units and to answer questions, etc. Joan Hackett has written an article in the Sharing Line addressing this new program, which replaces the Mission Today program, which is also on our PNW United Women in Faith Conference website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continue to set up Soul Retreats as requested, having had four successful ones last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of our members are getting ready for Assembly, and we are already looking forward to Mission u at Lazy F in July. This is a busy and exciting time for Crest To Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
