Praying, planning and dreaming of what is coming for our post-pandemic ministries? Re-opening on the brain?! We have been “paused” from in-person ministry and worship for over a year, and so now with our Bishop and Covid Response Team’s latest epistle many are moving to return to in-person worship as quickly as possible. And yet, we know that there is more to this than meets the eye… many details to plan, people to organize, development of a hybrid model of worship and ministry for the post-pandemic times…. but in this we surely are asking “how can we possibly make these big decisions while keeping up with the regular work of the church?”
The SeaTac District Office recognizes that this season of discernment – when and how to open well as more people are vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic – will take an incredible amount of creative energy and focus from pastors and church staff/lead volunteers after a long year of constant stress.
So we want to offer an opportunity for our clergy and lay worship leaders and volunteers to take a deep breath, find some time for planning and preparation, and engage in a period of spiritual renewal, by creating a Summer Worship Cohort called Anything but Ordinary. In this, we will be making available 9 weeks of worship services online from the SeaTac Missional District for July and August – for use by your local church.
Here’s how this all will work…..
Churches can register to participate in this program starting now.
The schedule of preachers and scriptures will be released on June 1, with the videos for each week released by Tuesday evening the week prior. All videos will be consistent and tested by our technical volunteers.
