The Greater Northwest Area’s INNOVATION AND VITALITY TEAM will be leading us throughout the day\, in worship\, plenary session\, conversations and workshops revolving around the three key practices that we believe are present in every vital congregation. These practices are namely\, INCLUSION\, INNOVATION and MULTIPLICATION. \nWe have picked the theme\, LOVE THY NEIGHBOR to celebrate what God is already doing in our faith communities in the ways we are loving and engaging our neighbors as well as to spark further our imagination towards what is still possible about God’s trans-formative work in our neighborhoods. To this end\, four workshops will be offered\, namely: Faith-based Community Organizing\, Asset Based Community Development\, Intercultural Competency\, and Intentional Multiplication. \nThe Early-bird registration is $20 per person until March 15 and $30 per person thereafter. ($30 at the door) There are scholarships available for those who cannot otherwise afford to attend. DESCRIPTION:Save the date!\nSeven Rivers District Clergy & Laity Retreat\nMark your calendars for April 13-15\, 2018!  We will have several joint workshops while others will be specific to clergy or laity!  This weekend is a wonderful time to fellowship with people from across the Seven Rivers District and to draw closer to Jesus in your own spiritual life\, all while surrounded by the beauty of Lazy F Camp & Retreat Center! \nMonarchs\, Grey Whales\, and Us: Reflections on Migration\n7 Rivers District Retreat for Laity & Clergy \nApril 13 – 15\, 2018 Lazy F Camp and Retreat Center \nJoin laity and clergy for a weekend designed to nurture body\, mind and spirit. During community time\, Rev. Lyda Pierce\, joined by several others\, will reflect on their personal and family experiences of migration and help us build curiosity about our own family’s experience that of others.. Additionally\, Paul Jeffrey\, through the magic of photo and video\, will present reflections on global migrations — even though he expects to be on the other side of the world at the time. Reflection questions will guide personal reflection time\, then we gather together again for conversation around the insights that have arisen for us. \n Our setting of Lazy F Camp and the schedule provide space to pursue your own personal interests – from hiking to napping\, and everything in between. Beginning with dinner on Friday and ending before lunch on Sunday\, we leave rested and energized\, having made new friends\, deepened existing relationships\, and nurtured our spiritual selves. \n About our Presenter: The Rev. Dr. Lyda Pierce serves as a United Methodist missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries for Hispanic/Latino Ministry Development in our Pacific Northwest Annual Conference. Bringing with her 20 years of pastoral experience in war-torn and hurricane ravaged countries and extensive teaching experience in both Central America and the U.S\, Lyda is the perfect guide to help us reflect on migration – how we view it and how we respond to it. \nCost: Early bird tickets are on sale now for $100 until February 28th.
