Since yesterday we have been watching the\u00a0devastating images of destruction in Moore, Oklahoma<\/a>. In the last two days, dozens of tornadoes tore through five states: Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois. We continue to pray for those affected and have been in contact with conference leadership to assess the needs and offer assistance.<\/p>\n

As you know, giving to UMCOR\u00a0through The Advance ensures that 100 hundred percent of each donation goes directly to the need specified. There are a number of ways to support UMCOR\u2019s relief efforts:<\/p>\n

  3. To donate online, go to www.umcor.org.<\/li>\n
  4. United Methodists can put a check made out to their local church in the offering place. Please write \u201c#901670 Disaster Response United States\u201d on the memo line.<\/li>\n
  5. To make an immediate $10 donation to UMCOR, text the word RESPONSE to 80888.<\/li>\n
  6. Relief kits , especially health kits and school kits can be sent to any of the depots in the UMCOR Relief-Supply Network. Read more about appropriate donations.<\/li>\n
