An Earthkeepers Training is coming this fall to Salt Lake City, UT and I hope to see you there!<\/em><\/p>\n

As the PNW Conference\u2019s new Creation Care Connector, I see this training as an excellent opportunity to network with other United Methodists who already do or (would like to do) Creation Care work, learn new tactics for sharing my own love for creation, and explore resources for my Earthkeepers project which is revitalizing our PNW Conference Creation Care ministry. The homework for the EarthKeepers Training promises to provide our group with a \u201cshared knowledge\u201d and I\u2019m especially excited to read the story entitled, \u201cWhy Stories Matter\u201d by Marshall Ganz. This training packs in time for action, too, as we\u2019ll be volunteering at the UMCOR West Depot. You won\u2019t want to miss this! Check out the information below and sign up!<\/p>\n

I also wanted to share a new resource from the latest New World Outlook Magazine<\/a>, a collaboration of the magazine and and Global Ministries\u2019 Creation Care Program. The Seasons of Creation liturgy features the creative contributions of three PNW clergy persons: Revs.\u00a0Abigail Vizcarra Perez, Meredith Dodd and Paul Jeffrey.<\/p>\n

United Methodist Global Ministries EarthKeepers Training Comes West!<\/b><\/h4>\n

Global Ministries is bringing EarthKeepers training to Salt Lake City November 1-4, 2018. EarthKeepers equips United Methodist laity and clergy to develop or deepen environmental initiatives in their churches and communities. It connects them with a broader community of United Methodists who are actively engaged in creation care. <\/span><\/p>\n

Training topics will include eco-theology, anti-racism, strategies for social change, and United Methodist resources. Participants will leave the training with a plan to develop a creation care project in their church or community.<\/span>

\n<\/span>The training will be led by Rev. Jenny Phillips, Global Ministries Creation Care Program Manager and clergy member of the Pacific Northwest Conference. The training will include a component on climate change as it relates to disaster mitigation, relief, and recovery. We will meet with Brian Diggs, associate director of the\u00a0<\/span>UMCOR West Depot<\/span><\/a>, and will volunteer at the Depot.<\/span>
