\u201cIn Wenatchee at the Conference UMW Annual Meeting in 1990 she showed wooden and toy camels in her keynote address.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cI went to her Episcopal Celebration send off in Wenatchee in 1992.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/h3>\n

These moments of reflection were shared with me over the last several months as we welcome Bishop Mary Ann Swenson to this year\u2019s Mission u! Swenson will serve as an all-school study leader at Mission u July 14-17, 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She will bring her wide experience of the Connectional UMC, having served on the General Boards of Global Ministries and Discipleship as well as President of the General Council of Finance and Administration, to the topic of \u201cMissionary Conferences\u201d. The past, present and future of Alaska, Red Bird and Oklahoma Conferences will be explored. Men, women and youth are all invited to Mission u, a joint venture of UMW and Global Ministries. Everyone will be part of Bishop Mary Ann Swenson\u2019s class and then choose either \u201cLiving as a Covenant Community\u201d<\/em> or Climate Justice as an elective.<\/p>\n

Scholarships are available, especially for first timers, youth and young adults. Van pooling and shuttle service again available.<\/p>\n
