{"id":14705,"date":"2017-01-27T16:54:27","date_gmt":"2017-01-28T00:54:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pnwumc.org\/news\/?p=14705"},"modified":"2017-01-27T16:54:27","modified_gmt":"2017-01-28T00:54:27","slug":"signs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pnwumc.org\/news\/signs\/","title":{"rendered":"Signs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Women gathering<br \/>\nEnergy rising<br \/>\nThe signs are all around<br \/>\nBy thousands they arrive<br \/>\nBig or small, flashy or tentative<br \/>\nIn peace, silently witnessing<br \/>\nTo an inner strength\u2014irrepressible<br \/>\nWords of cordoned rage, curtained fear<br \/>\nEnergy sparks energy<br \/>\nLet the march begin<br \/>\nTrembling spirits brave destructive powers<br \/>\nWave upon wave through<br \/>\nCrowded streets<br \/>\nWaiting, stepping out<br \/>\nBump, recoil, walk on<br \/>\nEnergy swirls a vortex<br \/>\nSpirit calls to spirit<br \/>\nSun breaks through the clouds<br \/>\nAnd then the eagles come<br \/>\nTwo bald eagles, circling<br \/>\nAbove the crowd<br \/>\nAgain\u2026again\u2026again\u2026<br \/>\nCircling, swooping, curling<br \/>\nEarth calls to sky<br \/>\nSky calls to earth<br \/>\nGreat bird wings beat their wild incantation<br \/>\nCare for the earth\u2014justice!<br \/>\nListen to the Native Americans\u2014justice!<br \/>\nRespect for women\u2014justice!<br \/>\nCry out for immigrants, for those of different races<br \/>\nSexualities, persuasions<br \/>\nFor people newly birthed to their freedom<br \/>\nTo love and live pursuing hope<br \/>\nAnd liberty for all<br \/>\nFour eagle eyes record<br \/>\nFor all posterity<br \/>\nWho stands up for the least of these<br \/>\nAgainst the abrogation<br \/>\nOf the common good<br \/>\nUntil raised up as if on eagle\u2019s wings<br \/>\nThe giant crowd shifts, flows on<br \/>\nAnd moves as one<br \/>\nToward the focal point of truth<br \/>\nWith its sustaining heartfelt call to love.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Carol Mariano<\/strong> serves as senior pastor of the <a href=\"https:\/\/hallerlakeumc.org\">Haller Lake United Methodist Church<\/a> in Seattle, Wash.
