Once again the offering called \u201cJars for Jamaa Letu\u201d, or simply \u201cJars\u201d, was generously supported.<\/p>\n<p>As of the end of July, the total received was <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>$15,350.98<\/strong><\/span>. This is nearly 20% or 1\/5 of the amount that is sent to the orphanages each year from The Pacific Northwest Conference.<\/p>\n<p>This offering and the generous United Methodists who support it are funding food, housing, school fees, medical care and staffing for the residents of the two orphanages. As of the June 30 quarterly reports, there are 40 girls and 28 boys living at the two orphanages.<\/p>\n<p>A new 8-day old baby boy was brought by authorities to the girls\u2019 orphanage in late June. &nbsp;Found in a plastic bag in the market and very underweight, he is now chubby-cheeked and thriving.
