Annual Conference is considered by some as one of our holy gatherings. For others, it’s just another in a series of denominational requirements. The faithful gather together at Annual Conference for a number of reasons, including attending to the business of the church. Legislation is written and presented, new chairs and members to commissions and boards are put forward, worship, debate and celebration are shared.

As the conference and district staff prepare for folks to inhabit the TRAC Center for the next five days, a few pilgrims have already shared some of the things they’re looking forward to this year:

“I’m looking forward to ordination service, young peeps service, teaching moments, plenary.”
-Amy Pazan

“I don’t think I’ve ever been nervous for annual conference before. This is what happens when you’re employed by Patrick Scriven and the Office of Connectional Ministries. :)”
-Karyn Kuan

“Also just being in Holy Conferencing with so many different minded people is always amazing.”
-Lauren Short

“My last year as lay delegate to AC! Not that I want it to be the last, but I will be present in a new way starting next year. So in many ways, it is the goodbye to lay leadership and liminal space before something new begins. And looking forward to warm sun.”
-Terri Stewart

“I’m looking forward to the election of the new PNW Conference Lay Leader — looking forward to work on the transition. I am not looking forward to the end of the role for me — it has been a blessing to be lay leader, and it will be hard to say goodbye to all the connections it provided.”
-Amory Peck
