Bishop Elaine J.W. Stanovsky intends to appoint the Rev. Kathleen Weber to serve on the Pacific Northwest and Greater Northwest Area cabinets as District Superintendent for the Crest to Coast Missional District, beginning July 1, 2018. She will be the first superintendent of this newly formed district comprising all of the churches in the current Vancouver District and fifteen churches from the southern end of the Tacoma District.

Rev. Kathleen Weber

ā€œKathleen Weber has demonstrated her deep faith and life-giving discipleship as a local church pastor.Ā She is a person of high integrity, and deep care for people and communities on the margins,ā€ wrote Bishop Stanovsky.Ā ā€œAs district superintendent, she will help guide The United Methodist Church as it learns new ways to create Godā€™s beloved community through our churches and ministries in a season of generational change and growing secularism.ā€

A second generation United Methodist pastor, Rev. Weber received her Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology in 2003 and her first appointment in 2005 as associate pastor to Blaine Memorial United Methodist Church. In 2011, she accepted her current appointment as pastor to Trinity United Methodist Church in Seattleā€™s Ballard neighborhood. In that missional context, Weber also serves on the Ballard Food Bankā€™s board and on the Community Advisory Committee for Nickelsville Ballard, a city sanctioned tent encampment. She is married to Dr. Danae Dotolo.

During her years in the Pacific Northwest Conference, Weber has also supported the camping ministries of the Japanese American United Methodist Caucus, offered guidance and coaching for churches exploring engagement in the reconciling movement, and completed the Two-Year Academy of Spiritual Formation. In addition, she helped design and now coordinates the Residence In Ministry Program for the PNW Board of Ordained Ministry.

In anticipation of this new appointment, Weber writes, ā€œI am looking forward to getting to know the faithful and vibrant ministries of the new Crest to Coast Missional District and to working alongside the people and churches in the district to build Godā€™s beloved community in our midst.ā€
