Hit hard by the opioid crisis, the city of Orting was looking for answers. The Rev. Dennis Paschke and Orting United Methodist Church have partnered with the community to offer a compassionate response to those struggling with addiction in the form of Recovery Café.

Recovery Cafe Orting Valley celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, November 17, 2018, the latest location in a network of peer recovery partnerships started in Seattle in 2004, and now found in seven states. The church is providing an adjacent former daycare building to the effort which brings together support from both public, private, and individual sources.
