It’s not just about a single board! Kelso First UMC hosted Simple Church Governance in February. Folks in the Vancouver District were invited to renew its focus on mission, liberate the energy and passion of its members in ministry, develop more effective leaders and easily include new people in discipleship and ministry.

Pastor Steve Ross first served on a Finance Committee at Montavilla UMC in Portland when he was 15 years old and has been serving as a lay and clergy leader in United Methodist Churches ever since. He has served in the Oregon-Idaho Conference as pastor of seven United Methodist Churches (sometimes two at a time), as a Superintendent, and most recently as the director of revitalization and new faith communities. He is a husband, the father of three sons and a grandpa to three little girls.

Simple Church Governance was held on Saturday, Feb 27th, 2016. For more information on this event, e-mail vancouver@pnwumc.org
