Blueprint for Wellness Screenings

By Bruce Galvin

On Friday and Saturday morning, June 20-21, 100 clergy and their spouses participated in the blueprint for wellness screen at the site of Annual Conference in Puyallup, Wash.  The screening involves blood work, blood pressure and weight measurement.

The screening is one of the three components of the wellness incentive of the Conference health programs.  If the pastor completes all three wellness incentives, the local church receives a wellness credit of $1,250 off the cost of providing health insurance for their pastor.

Last year about 80 percent completed the incentives. The funding for this program is provided by the Conference Board of Pensions. It is a win-win situation for the health of the pastors/spouses and reducing the cost to the local church.
