November 30, 2014 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
November 30, 2014 | 5:30pm | Vancouver First UMC
Responding to the needs of a growing immigrant population in the Portland (OR) and Vancouver (WA) metropolitan areas, a new Filipino-American Faith Community has been on the rise since the spring of 2014. This new movement seeks to provide inspiring and life giving ministries that cross state lines and cultural divides, giving primary focus on Filipino-American United Methodists who seek to live out their faith, culture and paradigm shifts.
Philippine United Methodist Bishop, Pedro Torio Jr. is scheduled to visit, pray for, and dialogue with the growing community at a Vespers Celebration on November 30, 2014 at First UMC of Vancouver, WA. (www.vanfumc.org) The event begins at 5:30 PM and will include a community potluck dinner. Bishop Torio has expressed excitement in connecting current and potential Filipino immigrants coming from the Philippines to this new faith community. This movement is under the auspices of the PNW and OR-ID Annual Conferences.
