Seeking Spirit at SIFF
May 19, 2015 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
When a film moves you–in any way–you want to talk about it. There is no place on the continent that offers you more films within three weeks than the Seattle International Film Festival, May 14 through June 7. And now you have a place to talk about it.
Seeking Spirit at SIFF, an informal symposium on spiritual cinema, will take place at First Church, Seattle, on Tuesday, May 19, 1-3pm. The agenda:
- An overview of SIFF 2015 with tips for newcomers on how to get the most from this ‘largest film festival on the continent.’
- A lively discussion about whether it is helpful, or even possible, to define “spiritual cinema.” A chance to share your own experience of the spiritual dimension of movies.
- Networking to set up times and locations for discussing films during the festival.
Whether you have much or little time to experience SIFF this year, your interest and insights in cinema in general have a welcome place at this first-ever symposium. There is no obligation to “register” on the facebook event page below. But please use the email address to indicate your interest and to seek further information.
Pay parking is available at First Church, 180 Denny Way, Seattle.
Brown bag lunches welcome.
