2016 Active Health Plans – Kent
May 20, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Kent United Methodist Church
In mid-March 2015 the conference board of pensions approved a recommendation to annual conference to change active health insurance offerings beginning in 2016, if approved, for those currently participating in the consumer driven health insurance plan (CDPH), not through OneExchange. This is a major change from the current program with choice between five different medical plans plus a dedicated amount of money provided to help purchase the plans of choice that meet ones individual needs. Currently one has no choice between health insurance plans plus the salary paying unit pays the cost for the participant’s health insurance costs
Two of the plans will have a health saving account (HSA) incorporated. An HSA is different from the current health reimbursement account (HRA). The new program through the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits is called HealthFlex Exchange. Every participant currently covered by CDPH will be given opportunity to make their election during the fall. If an election is not made there will be default plans chosen.
This meeting is to help one make an informed decision when it is brought up at annual conference and the election in the fall for CDHP participants.
