DESCRIPTION:A gathering of the SeaTac District with Bishop Cedrick is taking place on Monday\, January 22 at Fairwood Community UMC in Renton. Representatives from each SeaTac District church are invited to attend to share with the bishop a brief introduction to your church and its ministries. Based on the number of churches in our district and the space available\, we are asking that each church limit your representatives to your pastor(s) and one lay member. This event will be held in person only. Register to attend here. \nWe are also inviting each church to complete a Snapshot of Your Congregation to be compiled into a guidebook for Bishop Cedrick. SUMMARY:CANCELLED Advanced Boundary Training (Session 2 of 2)
DESCRIPTION:Sue Magrath and Zach Taylor are offering a virtual Advanced Boundary Training on subsequent Thursday afternoons in January to fulfill the boundary requirement for clergy. The dates are January 18th and 25th\, 2024 from 1 PM to 4 PM PST. Attendance at both sessions is mandatory. Sue Magrath will be leading the first of the two sessions on January 18th; Zach Taylor will be leading the second session on January 25th. The advanced training is for clergy who have already participated in one or more boundary workshops in the past. The class involves discussion of case studies prepared by the participants. Case studies should be prepared in advance in a Word document and sent to the presenter a week prior to the first session. They should be based on a pastoral situation the attendee experienced in which boundary issues were a significant factor. Please describe the incident\, your actions\, the outcome\, and what you learned and/or might have done differently. Please submit this to the presenter at least one week prior to the class. Cost is $25 per person. \n
