DESCRIPTION:In the first two weeks of May seven meetings will take place around the conference. Each meeting covers the same issues. The meetings are open to all voting members of annual conference. \nThe meeting will cover four issues with the first issue on the agenda having relevance to all voting members of annual conference. The other issues will cover clergy benefits which will not be relevant to the lay members that attend. The issues covered are as follows: \n\nA resolution coming from the conference board of pensions that responds to the divestment from fossil fuels companies petition that was passed at last year’s annual conference requiring conference investments to be fossil free by January 1\, 2018.\nAutomatic enhancements with the United Methodist Personal Investment Plan beginning January 1\, 2018. If one is currently contributing less then 2% of their plan compensation to UMPIP the automatic enhancements will impact them beginning January 1\, 2018. SUMMARY:Early Response Team (ERT) Spring Training
DESCRIPTION:The PNWUMC Volunteers in Mission team is hosting the First Annual Early Response Team “Spring Training” April 28-30\, 2017 at the Lazy F UMC Camp near Ellensburg\, Wa.  Have fun in a beautiful setting\, learn new skills and meet the ERT community. UMCOR trained instructors will teach ERT Basic\, Refresher and Advanced ERT classes. \nBeginning Friday evening\, the Spring Training team will offer a full schedule of weekend classes.  Current ERT badge holders and those interested in refreshing their ERT badge will enjoy rotating through classes including Wildfire Relief\, Spiritual Care\, Safety Officer Training\, plus a “Muck Out Deep Dive”.  A hands-on Chainsaw Training will also be available.  The Basic ERT Training will be held all day Saturday for those new to the program and include the Friday night and Sunday classes.  The trainings wrap up by Sunday noon. \nERT Spring Training registration is now open.  Early registration through April 1 is $35 per person and includes the ERT Basic\, Refresher or Advanced classes\, two nights accommodations in a Lazy F bunkhouse\, all meals Saturday plus Sunday breakfast and class training materials.  Registration April 2-20 is $45 then closes April 21. This will be a joint event with Oregon and Idaho like last year. \nDr. Terrill Gibson will be our speaker helping us to take a look at our “Call” to our various ministries.  We will open with our usual sharing\, have lunch ($10 donation to cover costs)\, speaker\, and closing with communion with a representative of the Greater Northwest Area Cabinet.
