SUMMARY:Bishop's Day in the Puget Sound District - Part 1
DESCRIPTION:In his efforts to continue getting to know our Pacific Northwest Conference and Greater Northwest Area\, Bishop Cedrick Bridgeforth will meet with clergy and laity of the Puget Sound District on Monday\, October 9. \n  \nBecause our district is geographically spread out\, Bishop will meet with us in two different locations that day. In the morning\, Kingston Redeemer UMC will host churches that are on the west side of the Puget Sound plus Whidbey and Fidalgo Islands. Then\, in the afternoon\, Bothell UMC will host those churches located east of the Sound. \n  \nCapacity is limited in each location\, so we are asking for each church in the district to coordinate who will attend to represent them: at least the pastor(s) and 1-2 lay people. Information about registration has been emailed to pastors and leaders\, so please check your inboxes for more details.

DESCRIPTION:The Advanced Preaching Class is intended to provide students with advanced skills in preaching and to give them feedback from experienced preachers in our Conference on a sermon they prepare and deliver. Participants must attend both sessions and prepare a written manuscript of a sermon on an assigned text during the week between the sessions. \nThis free course will be offered online via the Zoom Platform on October 21 and 28\, 2023\, from 9 a.m. to Noon PT. Registration is limited to nine students and closes on October 6. You can register online here: https://gnw-reg.brtapp.com/AdvancedPreaching2023 \nLaity from the Alaska\, Oregon-Idaho\, and Pacific Northwest Conferences who have completed an Introductory Course in Preaching are eligible to attend. This class qualifies as an approved advanced course for both CLMs and certified lay speakers. \nThis course will be taught by Rev.
