SUMMARY:Advanced Boundary Training (Session 2 of 2)
DESCRIPTION:Advanced Boundaries Training for Pastoral Leaders offered online this summer\nThe Pacific Northwest Conference is offering Advanced Boundary Training on Thursdays\, July 27 and August 3\, from 1:00-4:00 pm each day over Zoom. This class is advanced training for clergy who have previously participated in one or more boundary workshops in the past; the course fee is $25. Rev. Kathy Morse will facilitate the training\, which fulfills the boundary requirement for clergy. \nThe class involves discussion of case studies prepared by the participants. These need to be prepared prior to the training\, based on a personal experience related to boundary issues. Please describe the incident\, your actions\, the outcome\, and what you learned and/or might have done differently. This study should be typed out and e-mailed to the presenter before the first training so that it can be forwarded to all participants prior to the training.  Please submit this to the presenter at least one week prior to the class. \nTo register\, please use this link. \nBoth sessions must be attended plus the case study written and mailed to the trainer for you to receive the full 8 hours credit to fulfill the boundary requirements.

DESCRIPTION:There are always one or two people in your congregation who know exactly how to push your buttons\, alienate others and make even the most innocuous meeting agenda go suddenly awry.  Learn about the personality disorders that are often behind people’s bad behavior and how you can become more effective in dealing with them. While we will be addressing clinical material\, the emphasis is not on diagnosis but on recognizing patterns of behavior and understanding the motivation behind them.  Through understanding\, you can begin to take your encounters with such people less personally.  This restores balance to your interactions and enables you to set healthy boundaries that protect you from hurtful behavior. \nThis event will take place over Zoom on Tuesday\, August 15th from 1-4pm. DESCRIPTION:Be ready when the next disaster strikes to help those most in need. The Early Response Team Basic Training will prepare you on ways to clean out a flooded home\, haul debris\, sift through ashes and work alongside survivors while staying safe. The class is taught by United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) certified trainers and includes examples of recent missions\, hands-on activities\, and an opportunity to meet people with a passion to serve.
