SUMMARY:Safety Advocate Webinar October
DESCRIPTION:Conference staff will be offering an updated version of the Safety Advocate webinars for individuals who are interested in becoming a Safety Advocate for their church\, or in getting re-certified for this important role. Safety Advocates are responsible for promoting and maintaining Safe Church policies and for providing an avenue for vulnerable persons to voice a concern or problem. \nTo keep our webinar time together to about an hour we do ask that several prerequisites be completed prior to attending the webinar. To serve as a Safety Advocate\, you must first pass a national background check\, complete the basic abuse “Awareness Training” and “Skillful Screenings” Trainings offered through your church’s Ministry Safe dashboard. (please share the church you’ve done this with or will be doing it with when you RSVP). \nParticipants will need to review the Conference Safe Sanctuaries Guidelines (Click here for the Guidelines) and also take this short quiz before participating in the webinar. (Click here for the Quiz) Only participants who have completed all of the prerequisites and have RSVP’d will be sent the webinar link. \nIf you are interested in participating in this webinar\, please RSVP prior to October 28 to Teri Tobey (ttobey@pnwumc.org; (253) 732-7479).
