SUMMARY:CONVO 2017
DESCRIPTION:Over Memorial Day weekend\, hundreds of Youth (grades 6-12) and adult youth workers will gather at the University of Puget Sound for CONVO\, three days of worship\, fun\, and learning. This United Methodist youth retreat is a fantastic opportunity to connect with friends new and old from across the Pacific Northwest!\n\nThis year’s theme is “BOLDLY GO and make a difference.” Our speaker\, Chelsea Spyres will lead us in exploring how we can be the change we want to see: in ourselves\, our church\, our families\, and in our communities. You can read more about Chelsea below. \nEvery year\, CONVO is planned by an excellent team of youth and supportive adults who have a passion and dedication to making this the best event it can be; this year is no exception. We’ve been hosting this “Bishop’s Youth CONVOcation” for over 40 years and we are praying for a weekend where both youth and adults are equipped and recharged to live as passionate disciples of Jesus Christ. \nWe hope you will join us in boldly going to CONVO on May 27-29! \nWho Can Go?\nCONVO is for youth currently in grades 6 – 12 and their adult leaders (sorry\, no mature 5th graders). We ask churches to send one adult\, who has completed a national background check\, to accompany every 1- 6 youth of each gender. We will try to accommodate youth in cases where this isn’t possible. We offer scholarships\, for those in financial need\, to help to make this retreat possible for all. \nRegistration\nCONVO registration is online. Each youth and adult registering must fill out an online registration form. If you have difficulties with the registration process\, please contact us and we’d be happy to help! \nYour registration fee includes your lodging as well as food from dinner Saturday through breakfast on Monday. \nRegistration will close at 9PM PST May 10th\, 2017.\nDue to website issues earlier this week we are leaving registration open until Friday morning May 12th 8AM. \nCLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER

SUMMARY:Puget Sound District Laity Retreat 2017
DESCRIPTION:Puget Sound District Laity Retreat 2017\n\n\nREGISTER NOW!\nLiving Into Call: God’s Plan for Me\nSaturday\, May 20\, 2017\nWarm Beach Camp\, Stanwood\n9:00 AM Check-In\n9:30 AM Program Begins\n4:00 PM Adjournment\n$20 includes lunch. Scholarships available. \n“You didn’t choose me\, but I chose you and appointed you so that you could go and produce fruit and so that your fruit could last.” John 15:16a \nJoin us for a Spring Laity Retreat at wonderful Warm Beach. This event is intended for all the laity of our churches\, members and leaders alike. With the leadership of Steve Ross\, we will be discussing that to be fruitful we need to be faithful in aligning an outward calling from the church with an inward calling of God. He will help us figure out what talents we bring to the table? \nWhat is God calling you to do\, in your church and in your life?  \nSteve Ross has served as a United Methodist Pastor and District Superintendent in the Oregon/Idaho conference and since 2012 he has been the Director of the Vital Church Project. His book Leadership and Organization for Fruitful Congregations is being used by many churches in the Northwest to think about a simpler and more effective approach to church governance.
