SUMMARY:Special Screening: Migrant Women Rise with Deaconess Joyous Prim
DESCRIPTION:Join Beacon United Methodist Church’s Crossroads Vespers service on April 15 at 1 p.m. for a special screening of “Migrant Women Rise: Stories of Red-Tagged Overseas Filipino Workers.” \nThey will be joined by the producer of the film Deaconess Joyous Prim\, a United Methodist Missionary serving as a welfare case officer with migrant workers in Hong Kong and convener of the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines-Hong Kong. The church will also host a discussion with local organizers and Deaconess Joyous after the film. \nABOUT THE FILM:\n\n\n\n\nAmidst the COVID-19 pandemic\, overseas Filipino workers in Hong Kong risk their lives and reputations as they speak out against the anti-people policies of the Philippine government.
