DESCRIPTION:In 2017 the Oregon-Idaho and Pacific Northwest Conferences of The United Methodist Church will meet together in a shared annual conference session June 14 – 17\, 2017 at the Red Lion on the River – Jantzen Beach in Portland\, Oregon. \nThe shared session will begin with the installation of Bishop Elaine J.W. Stanovsky as the presiding bishop of the Greater Northwest Episcopal Area at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday\, June 14\, 2017. Representatives from the Alaska Conference will also join their southern neighbors for the installation. \nThe conferences will meet through the session in both shared and individual plenary meetings as well as sharing worship\, laity meetings\, workshops and mission experiences. SUMMARY:Joint PNW & OR-ID Extension Ministers Gathering
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, April 8\, 2017\, from 10 am to 4 pm\, those serving in Extension Ministry will gather for a day retreat at First United Methodist Church in Vancouver\, WA. This will be a joint event with Oregon and Idaho like last year. \nDr. Terrill Gibson will be our speaker helping us to take a look at our “Call” to our various ministries.  We will open with our usual sharing\, have lunch ($10 donation to cover costs)\, speaker\, and closing with communion with a representative of the Greater Northwest Area Cabinet.
