DESCRIPTION:Advanced Boundaries Training for Pastoral Leaders offered online this summer\nThe Pacific Northwest Conference is offering Advanced Boundary Training on Thursdays\, July 27 and August 3\, from 1:00-4:00 pm each day over Zoom. This class is advanced training for clergy who have previously participated in one or more boundary workshops in the past; the course fee is $25. Rev. Kathy Morse will facilitate the training\, which fulfills the boundary requirement for clergy. \nThe class involves discussion of case studies prepared by the participants. These need to be prepared prior to the training\, based on a personal experience related to boundary issues. Please describe the incident\, your actions\, the outcome\, and what you learned and/or might have done differently. This study should be typed out and e-mailed to the presenter before the first training so that it can be forwarded to all participants prior to the training.  Please submit this to the presenter at least one week prior to the class. \nTo register\, please use this link. \nBoth sessions must be attended plus the case study written and mailed to the trainer for you to receive the full 8 hours credit to fulfill the boundary requirements.

DESCRIPTION:Can We Affect the Housing Problem? \nThe lack of affordable housing throughout the country is well documented. But what\, if anything\, can churches do to make a difference? If you want to be a part of the affordable housing solution but don’t know where to start or what to do\, you are invited to a workshop entitled “Housing 101” on May 10 from 1-3 pm PST on Zoom. This invitation is to the entire Greater Northwest Episcopal Area. \nThis workshop is being hosted by Wesley UMC in Yakima and led by Pastor Shane Moore and Marty Miller. Marty Miller is the executive director of the Office of Rural and Farmworker Housing (ORFH) in Yakima. Marty has been with ORFH for over 20 years and brings wide expertise on the issues of affordable housing. DESCRIPTION:Laypersons serving on local church committees\, especially those who chair administrative committees\, are encouraged to register now for a Greater Northwest Area-wide training on Saturday\, February 26\, 2022.
