DESCRIPTION:As The United Methodist Church\, we primarily serve those within of our local communities\, but when the unimaginable happens\, we serve however and wherever we can. \n\n\n\n\nParticipants of this Early Response Team (ERT) training will learn the basics of disaster response\, including how to stabilize and secure homes safely\, and how to work effectively with survivors and others on the response team. This standardized class is required for the basic ERT UMCOR identification badge. \nCertification requires attendance at an ERT class\, a background check and a safe sanctuaries certification. DESCRIPTION:Getting Messy in the USA…Connect…Discover…Expand \nMake plans today to join the founder of Messy Church\, Lucy Moore at the first ever Messy Church USA Conference on October 20-21\, 2017 at Community United Methodist Church in Huntington Beach\, California.  Messy Church is a global movement that started in 2004 in one small Anglican Church in the UK. Martyn Payne\, author of recently released Messy Parables will join Lucy Moore to provide inspiring stories as well as practical suggestions to enliven your ministry setting. SUMMARY:Early Response Team (ERT) Spring Training
DESCRIPTION:The PNWUMC Volunteers in Mission team is hosting the First Annual Early Response Team “Spring Training” April 28-30\, 2017 at the Lazy F UMC Camp near Ellensburg\, Wa.  Have fun in a beautiful setting\, learn new skills and meet the ERT community. UMCOR trained instructors will teach ERT Basic\, Refresher and Advanced ERT classes. \nBeginning Friday evening\, the Spring Training team will offer a full schedule of weekend classes.  Current ERT badge holders and those interested in refreshing their ERT badge will enjoy rotating through classes including Wildfire Relief\, Spiritual Care\, Safety Officer Training\, plus a “Muck Out Deep Dive”.  A hands-on Chainsaw Training will also be available.  The Basic ERT Training will be held all day Saturday for those new to the program and include the Friday night and Sunday classes.  The trainings wrap up by Sunday noon. \nERT Spring Training registration is now open.  Early registration through April 1 is $35 per person and includes the ERT Basic\, Refresher or Advanced classes\, two nights accommodations in a Lazy F bunkhouse\, all meals Saturday plus Sunday breakfast and class training materials.  Registration April 2-20 is $45 then closes April 21.
