SUMMARY:Housing 101 Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Can We Affect the Housing Problem? \nThe lack of affordable housing throughout the country is well documented. But what\, if anything\, can churches do to make a difference? If you want to be a part of the affordable housing solution but don’t know where to start or what to do\, you are invited to a workshop entitled “Housing 101” on May 10 from 1-3 pm PST on Zoom. This invitation is to the entire Greater Northwest Episcopal Area. \nThis workshop is being hosted by Wesley UMC in Yakima and led by Pastor Shane Moore and Marty Miller. Marty Miller is the executive director of the Office of Rural and Farmworker Housing (ORFH) in Yakima. Marty has been with ORFH for over 20 years and brings wide expertise on the issues of affordable housing. While Marty is with ORFH\, he is coming to this presentation as a long-term member of Wesley UMC and someone with a passion for solving the housing crisis through grassroots work in local communities. \nJoin us on May 10th from 1-3 pm PST on Zoom to learn more about housing and the difference you and your faith community can make to solve this problem. \nClick here for more information or to register.

SUMMARY:BOTH/AND: To Be Continued
DESCRIPTION:About this Training \nAfter over 18 months of doing our best to live into BOTH/AND\, many churches are feeling a mixture of exhilaration and exhaustion when thinking about the continuation of hybrid worship. While many have seen their reach extended\, some have begun to lose their passion and resolve for creating truly hybrid worship experiences. As in-person numbers have increased\, more and more churches are asking\, “can we stop doing online now?” If that’s you\, don’t give up! Now is the time to re-new and re-energize your passion for BOTH/AND. It’s making a difference. \nJoin Jason Moore for a follow up to the popular BOTH/AND webinar. BOTH/AND: To Be Continued will focus on why hybrid should carry on\, how to continue to iterate and will provide tangible handles on how to do it well. This brand new 90-minute training brings all new content focused on the why\, how and what we can do to run the next leg of this very important race. We are living in an incredible “Great Commission” moment in the church. Let’s lean in and continue to iterate forward. \nThis webinar will include: \n\nAn invitation to determine your WHY for BOTH/AND worship\n13 reasons why BOTH/AND must continue\nAnswer to the “what if they don’t come back to the building” question\nHow to create a BOTH/AND Think Tank at your church\nHow to build an intentional chat strategy in order foster real relationships\nBOTH/AND pro tips\nQ&A\n\nAfter you register\, you will receive an email with links to a recording of the original BOTH/AND webinar and an accompanying workbook. We hope this will make it easier for new participants to fully engage and past participants to refresh themselves with Jason’s content. \nRSVP by Nov. 18! →\nQuestions? \nEmail Patrick Scriven\, director of communications for the Pacific Northwest Conference of The United Methodist Church\, if you have any questions about this training or the registration process. His email address is pscriven@pnwumc.org. \nA full description of this offering is available here: https://regionalmediacenter.org/both-and-to-be-continued/ \n* Who can register for this training?\nUnited Methodist laity and clergy serving the churches and ministries of the Alaska\, Oregon-Idaho and Pacific Northwest Conferences are invited to use register for this training. The training is being offered free of charge by the Regional Media Center as part of its service to United Methodists in the Alaska\, Oregon-Idaho and Pacific Northwest Conferences.

SUMMARY:Endowments: What You Need to Know
DESCRIPTION:Endowments aren’t just for universities and hospitals. They can be a great way to maintain church buildings and fund ministries. However\, endowments don’t merely appear out of thin air. SUMMARY:Mission u 2021
DESCRIPTION:We have known and felt what it is like when “things are falling apart on us.” We have experienced a great unraveling that has shifted\, quite literally\, everything. \nCould there be\, as 2 Corinthians put it\, “far more here than meets the eye”? \nMission u\, like many activities in our lives\, has moved online. While virtual\, we are still creating spaces for spiritual community\, lifelong friendships\, lessons that change us and our communities\, and spiritual practices that arrive when we need them most. In a time when it looks like things are falling apart on us\, God’s grace is still unfolding and life is being made new. \nIndeed: There’s far more here than meets the eye. Will you join us? \nAt our upcoming Mission u\, we will examine anxiety\, the culture of violence that impacts children in and out of schools\, and how we as God’s people can deepen our moral witness and respond faithfully. \nOur 2021 Mission u in the Pacific Northwest Conference will offer the following studies Thursday through Saturday\, July 29-31\, online via Zoom: \n\nSpirituality Study: Finding Peace in an Anxious World\, edited by Erin James-Brown\, Taught by Rev.
