DESCRIPTION:Online only\, with online voting support. More details TBA. \nThe sole purpose of the Special Session is to affirm or not affirm the church conference actions of local churches that are choosing to ask to disaffiliate from The United Methodist Church under the provisions of ¶ 2553 of The Book of Discipline\, 2019 Addendum. The Board of Trustees will present negotiated settlements that cannot be amended. The members of Annual Conference will affirm or not affirm the agreements by a simple majority vote. \nThe Special Session will be held on Zoom and will require registration for voting credentials. Registration and further information regarding the session and its business will be sent to the persons to be seated at the special session of the Annual Conference and posted on the conference website by Nov. 3\, 2023. \nThe voting membership of the special session will consist of the clergy members of the annual conference as defined in ¶32 of the Book of Discipline and the lay members of the June 2023 Annual Conference (lay member or alternate\, whoever was last seated in the June annual conference) in accordance with the Book of Discipline ¶602.5.1 \n1 No local charge will be deprived of its lay member due to death\, serious illness\, or cessation of membership. DESCRIPTION:The Gathering of the Orders and Fellowships will be September 27-29\, 2023\, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Yakima\, Washington. We will be welcoming deaconesses and home missioners to the gathering for the first time. Janet Wolf is an elder in The United Methodist Church and has served as a pastor of rural and urban congregations. She is a college and seminary professor\, community mediator\, learner\, and partner for transformative justice. \nIn July 2012\, she was appointed to work with Marian Wright Edelman and the Children’s Defense Fund on nonviolent direct-action organizing to dismantle the cradle-to-prison pipeline\, work that includes the organization’s Freedom Schools and the annual Proctor Institute for Child Advocacy Ministry. She is the author of “To See and To Be Seen\,” a chapter in I Was in Prison: United Methodist Perspectives on Prison Ministry\, edited by James M. Shopshire Sr.\, et al.\, and numerous other writings. She is the author of the book Practicing Resurrection: The Gospel of Mark and Radical Discipleship.

DESCRIPTION:Growing Deeply \nAfter a three year gap\, all who are ordained\, including those from other denominations serving the PNWUMC and United Methodists from other annual conferences\, and all under appointment and assigned are invited to a Gathering of the Orders and Fellowship on September 27-29\, 2022\, at Wenatchee First UMC.
