DESCRIPTION:Seven Rivers District is offering two Advanced Boundary Trainings this spring to fulfill the boundary requirement for clergy. This is the second of those trainings – the first training is on April 30. The advanced training is for clergy who have already participated in one or more boundary workshops in the past. The class involves discussion of case studies prepared by the participants. These should be prepared prior to the training\, based on a personal experience related to boundary issues. Please describe the incident\, your actions\, the outcome\, and what you learned and/or might have done differently. This study should be typed out and e-mailed to the presenter so that it can be forwarded to all participants prior to the training.  Please submit this to the presenter at least one week prior to the class.  \nCANCELLED APRIL 22\, 2019. \nA limited lunch selection will be provided: two types of homemade soup\, one made with meat\, the other vegetarian and gluten-free. If neither choice appeals to you\, please feel free to bring your own lunch.

DESCRIPTION:United Methodists in the Alaska\, Oregon-Idaho and Pacific Northwest Conferences are being encouraged to participate in Table Talk conversations being planned in various settings across the Greater Northwest Area. These opportunities will provide attendees a way to engage the church’s current discussion of human sexuality and the report of the Commission on a Way Forward within a structure of worship and respect for one another. \nTimes TBD. \nClergy and lay people from all across the area are asked to seriously consider participating in one of these opportunities. \nClick here to learn more about these conversations.\nPlease RSVP so site leaders can prepare for the right number of people.

DESCRIPTION:Compassion v 2.0\nUpgrade your operating system!\nJesus models a three-fold way of compassion that helps us respond to a world divided into “them against us”\, fueled by fear\, anxiety\, and incivility. This workshop offers practical methods for showing compassion for yourself and others\, even offensive people. Learn to move from survive to thrive! \nEvent begins at 9am and should end around 3pm. \nThere will be a coffee/tea service in the morning with snacks and a simple catered lunch. Please note on your registration if you have any dietary needs. General needs such as vegetarian we should be able to accommodate but if your dietary needs are restrictive\, we suggest that you bring some supplementary snacks to ensure you are well-fed throughout the event. \nPlease register HERE.

SUMMARY:Exploring New Ways of Walking With One Another in Uncertain Times
DESCRIPTION:In a reality where immigrants are threatened with deportation\, Muslims with registration\, and any stranger may be harassed as a danger\, Jesus calls us to love our neighbors. A lot of discussion about “sanctuary” is being expressed and shared. As Church\, we need to consider what “sanctuary” means\, what it looks like\, and how we may be able to offer it to those in need. Exploring other responses to these needs may help our communities to be safe places. \nYou are invited to pray\, study\, and propose ways that we\, as Church\, can: \n\nBe Hospitable\,\nOffer Sanctuary\,\nand Love One Another.\n\nPlease come with your experiences\, questions\, worries\, and ideas. \n“Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers\, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
