Through a process of consultation, discernment and prayer, the Pacific Northwest Conference Cabinet completed the appointments and assignments for the 2021-2022 conference year.
The following appointments and assignments are listed in reverse chronological order based upon their announcement to the conference.
Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint the Rev. Kim Poer as pastor of Salmon Creek United Methodist Church in Salmon Creek, Washington, beginning July 1, 2023.
Rev. Poer is an ordained elder from the Texas Annual Conference. She is currently serving as pastor of Community United Methodist Church in Woodinville, Washington.
Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint the Rev. Keri Rainsberger as pastor of Davenport Edwall United Methodist Church in Davenport, Washington, beginning July 1, 2023.
Rev. Rainsberger is an ordained elder from the Northern Illinois Annual Conference, where she served as pastor in a rural community.
Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint the Rev. Kelly Dahlman-Oeth to the South Sound Co-operative as Pastor at Shelton United Methodist Church in Shelton, Washington, beginning July 1, 2023.
Rev. Dahlman-Oeth is currently serving at Ronald United Methodist Church in Shoreline, Washington. The Rev. Ann Lock, Shelton UMC’s current pastor, has requested Personal Leave beginning July 1, 2023.
Seven Rivers District Superintendent Daniel Miranda intends to assign David Baird as lay pastor of Deer Park United Methodist Church in Deer Park, Washington, beginning March 1, 2023.
Baird is a Certified Lay Minister in the Pacific Northwest Conference and is already serving faithfully in leadership at Deer Park, in preaching, leading worship, and various other roles.
Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint the Rev. April Hall as pastor of Battle Ground Community United Methodist Church in Battle Ground, Washington, beginning July 1, 2023.
Rev. Hall, a provisional elder in the PNW Conference, is currently serving the Kenai and North Star United Methodist churches in the Alaska Conference.
Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint the Rev. Meredith Dodd as pastor of Lake Washington United Methodist Church in Kirkland, Washington, beginning July 1, 2023.
Rev. Dodd last served Bryn Mawr United Methodist Church in Seattle, Washington, in 2020. Lake Washington UMC’s current pastor, Rev. Rich Lang, has announced his retirement.
Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint the Rev. Mark Johnson as pastor of Anacortes United Methodist Church in Anacortes, Washington, beginning July 1, 2023.
Rev. Johnson currently serves as pastor of Allen United Methodist Church in Bow, Washington. Anacortes UMC’s current pastor, Rev. Rich Feagin, intends to retire in June.
Bishop Cedrick D. Bridgeforth intends to appoint the Rev. Cathlynn (Cathy) Law as pastor of Cedar Cross United Methodist Church in Mill Creek, Washington, beginning July 1, 2023.
Rev. Law currently serves as lead pastor at United Church in University Place. Cedar Cross UMC’s current pastor, Rev. Jim Clarke, will retire at the end of June.
Bishop Elaine JW Stanovsky announces her appointment of the Rev. Dennis Payne II as Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Seattle, Washington.
Rev. Payne, an itinerant elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, has been serving Grace UMC as pulpit supply since May, with his appointment officially beginning on August 4, 2022.
Seven Rivers Missional District Superintendent Daniel Miranda intends to assign Leigh Ann Robinson as lay pastor of Methow Valley United Methodist Church in Methow Valley, Washington, beginning August 1, 2022.
Robinson is a member of Methow Valley UMC and has offered her leadership in a variety of ways. She recently completed the requirements to serve the church as a certified lay minister and also brings additional seminary-level education beyond what is required by that certification.
Bishop Elaine JW Stanovsky intends to appoint the Rev. Kathy Makus as interim pastor of Riverview United Methodist Church in Pasco, Washington, beginning August 1, 2022.
Rev. Makus, a retired elder in the Pacific Northwest Conference, last served Manson UMC from 2013 to 2016. It was previously announced that Rev. Derek McGuckin, Riverview UMC’s current pastor, will serve First UMC in Moscow, Idaho, beginning August 1.
Bishop Elaine JW Stanovsky intends to appoint the Rev. Donna Pritchard as co-pastor of Edmonds United Methodist Church in Edmonds, Washington, beginning September 1, 2022.
Rev. Pritchard, a retired elder in the Oregon-Idaho Conference, last served First UMC in Portland, Oregon, until January of this year. She replaces Rev. Joanne Coleman Campbell who has served Edmonds UMC as interim pastor since February.
Bishop Elaine JW Stanovsky intends to appoint the Rev. Ann Jacob as co-pastor of Edmonds United Methodist Church in Edmonds, Washington, beginning July 1, 2022.
Rev. Jacob was approved as a licensed local pastor by the PNW Clergy Session when it met earlier this month. She has been serving on the pastoral team at Edmonds UMC in lay-assigned status since 2019.
