Leadership Development

It’s a beach party for leadership!  Come visit the Leadership Development booth to learn more about the summer Swim-a-Thon to support the Bishop Jack and Marjorie Tuell Center for Leadership Excellence.

Bishop Tuell was an avid swimmer.  Come compete for prizes and pick up pledge cards to raise money for leadership.   Individuals and teams can gather pledges for any water-related athletic activity through August 31. Details and sign-ups will be available at the booth.

Instead of providing a one-size-fits-all program, the Bishop Jack and Marjorie Tuell Center for Leadership Excellence utilizes an integrated system of learning and practice to provide training, resources and support to nurture lay and clergy leaders in meeting the challenge of adapting the Church to effectively serve today’s world.

Have some fun for leadership!

Congregational Development

The Congregational Development table will feature information on the work of the Board of Congregational Development and will introduce some of the ground-breaking new faith communities, native to the Pacific Northwest Conference. We will also highlight the Beta Vitality Process, an intentional two-year system of learning and support for local church lay and clergy leaders, as they continue to develop and strengthen healthy habits for fulfilling their purpose as a church.

The Regional Media Center

Videos.  On the shelves.  In your hands.  That sums up the two purposes of your Regional Media Center (RMC).  We provide production services and a lending library.

You may have noticed our exhibit table with DVDs, books, and sign-up sheets for our monthly e-newsletter.  Receiving the newsletter is the best way to stay updated on new resources.  In fact, we offer more than 2,500 titles for you to choose from, so there is always something you can use in VBS, bible studies, youth, women’s and men’s groups, at retreats, you-name-it and there’s a good chance that we have it or can buy it for you.

Operating a lending library is part of what we do, but we also provide video production services from concept design and filming to post-production editing and duplication.  We support Annual Conference technical needs by producing the material you see on screen whether it be a video offering, awards ceremony, plenary or committee report.   The next time you are thinking about curricula or something for your small group, call the Ellen Johanson at the RMC: 1-800-755-7710 and find out why so many of our churches love Media for Ministry.

Channels

What is your church’s story?  How is your church supporting its local community?  What are some of the innovative ways your congregation is creating disciples in the PNW?  Channels is your monthly, award-winning magazine of the PNWUMC.  We have powerful stories, ideas, and resources to support your local church.

Sign up and be counted!  You can fill out a quick subscription form at the Channels table and choose how you want to receive news from the PNW Conference.  Pick up a couple of copies for your church congregation, too!

If you have any questions, get in touch with Jesse N. Love, graphic designer & print manager for the PNWUMC!

Camping & Retreat Ministries

Come relax by a roaring campfire in the woods at the Camping and Retreat Ministries booth. While you’re there, during posted times, take a photo in our “photo booth”  with the many assorted props and costume items. There, you can also show your love for our four camps, Twinlow, Lazy F, Indianola, and Ocean Park, with a button, or by crafting your very own wood cookie name tag! Hope to see you there!
