The clergy wellness task force has been working for the last several months to put together a “Helping Professionals Directory” for clergy. Given the realities of itinerancy, it is not always easy to find resources in your communities, and we wanted to help you find the professionals that will facilitate your mental and spiritual health in a number of ways. Therefore, the directory includes such professionals as coaches, mental health providers, spiritual directors, and retreat centers, listed by district. The names were recommended by your fellow clergy from around the conference.

There are a few categories that are not yet adequately represented, so if you have any recommendations to expand our listings, please feel free to contact Sue Magrath at suemagrath@msn.com. To access the directory (click here), go to the conference website, hover over the Ministries tab, and click on Board of Ordained Ministries. You will see a list of links on the right hand side of the page. Scroll down almost to the bottom and click on Helping Professionals Directory. We welcome any feedback you might have.

For those who attended the clergy session at annual conference, you will remember Brad Beeman’s report regarding the clergy survey that will be disseminated soon. For those of you not in attendance, this is another project coming from the clergy wellness task force. In the near future, every clergy in the conference should receive the link to a clergy wellness survey via e-mail.

This survey is essential to helping the BOM identify specific areas where resources are most needed. Think of it as a conference-wide “selfie!” We need a picture of where we are right now in order to determine where we need to focus our attention in the months ahead. The more information we have, from as many participants as possible, the better the data for making decisions about resources and programs that will better serve the clergy of PNW.

Please take the time to respond to the survey in a timely fashion. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
