Treasurer's Office
The Treasurer's Report
FROM THE TREASURER
The Treasurer’s office of the Pacific Northwest Annual Conference is a hub of activity. Our primary goal is to provide quality service to the churches of the annual conference. The phones and the computer terminals at our desks are humming all day long with messages and emails asking questions, seeking information or how to advice or instruction on local church or annual conference matters. There are no insignificant questions. We are ready to answer your needs or find the answer as quickly as possible.
We are commonly asked about apportionments, benefits, fire and liability coverage, property tax, income tax for clergy, church structure, questions about the Discipline, accounting issues, safe church guidelines, moving expenses and the list goes on and on. Feel free to call the office when you need help, we are here to service you.
CraigFUNDING MINISTRY AND MISSION OUTREACH BOOKLET
The 2010 version of this book has been mailed. I hope it will be widely used by our local churches. If you do not receive a copy, contact your pastor who should have a few extras. Additional copies are available upon request from this office.
2010 MONTHLY REMITTANCE FORM
The 2010 monthly remittance forms, used for sending apportionments, special offerings and advance special gifts to the Conference Office, is available in several ways. Early in the new year the form will be posted for downloading off the conference web site (www.pnwumc.org); e-mailed in Excel format (customized for your church) and as a master form to be copied as needed. Pre-addressed Treasurer’s Office envelopes will be sent to each church as usual. Please direct any comments to Craig Parrish (CParrish@pnwumc.org)
2010 FIRE AND LIABILITY INSURANCE PREMIUMS
There are a few churches with outstanding balances for 2009 that we are following up with. We are continuing to negotiate our rates for 2010 and you should be seeing a decrease. Final rates are being held until closer to the end of the year to see how our claim history finishes for the year. You will be sent notices in early January with final premiums.
IRS mileage allowance
The IRS has changed the maximum allowable mileage rate for business travel to 50¢ per mile beginning January 1, 2010.
