2008 Funding Ministry and Mission Outreach Booklet – This newly updated and revised resource booklet has been mailed. I hope it will be widely used by our local churches. If you did not receive a copy, contact your pastor who should have a few extras. Additional copies are available upon request from this office.
2008 Direct Bill Health Cost – The 2008 cost will be $7,455. The wellness incentive will increase to $1,250 for a full-time pastor completes the two wellness incentives.
2008 Minimum Salary – The 2008 minimum salary for full-time appointments is $34,354.
2008 Fire and Liability Insurance – We are leaving Safeco and are moving our insurance program to Philadelphia Insurance Co. You will be receiving a letter shortly with additional details regarding claims and a rate reduction.
Year-End Closing – The books of the Conference Treasurer will be officially closed Monday, January 7, 2008, for the calendar year 2007. All monies received in this office after January 7, 2008 will be credited on 2008 records. We depend on each church being sure that all payments for 2007 apportionments are made prior to closing. And remember to allow for holiday mail delays.
Local Church Reports – The Pastor’s Local Church Reports, both statistical and financial, covering the calendar year 2007 will be mailed to pastors during the third week of December. An online option will be available this year. Details will be included in your packet. Treasurers should be sure they get the financial supplement forms from their pastors as soon as possible. It is expected that the local church treasurer will work with the pastor in the preparation of the financial supplement. By Conference rule, all pastor’s reports are due by January 20, 2008.
2008 Monthly Remittance Form – The 2008 monthly remittance forms, used for sending apportionments, special offerings and advance special gifts to the Conference Office, is available in several ways. The form will be posted for downloading off the conference web site (www.pnwumc.org); emailed in Excel format (customized for your church) and as a master form to be copied as needed. Pre-addressed Treasurer’s Office envelopes will be sent to each church as usual. Please direct any comments to Craig Parrish (CParrish@pnwumc.org)
ATTENTION, ATTENTION – The IRS has changed the maximum allowable mileage rate for business travel to 50.5¢ per mile beginning January 1, 2008.
