Bishop Paup addresses Council of Bishops

During the April 21 Council of Bishops meeting in Fort Worth, Texas, Bishop Edward W. Paup of the Seattle Area explains his decision to resign from the episcopacy prior to becoming top staff executive of the United Methodist Board of Global Ministries. Last March, Paup was elected general secretary by the governing members of the New York City-based mission agency. The election and resignation was a first in the 40-year history of the denomination.
