Race to Reach Out
The vast majority of United Methodist congregations draw 100 or fewer worshipers each Sunday. Come explore the dynamics of the small church – also known as a family-sized church - and strategies for increasing satisfaction and growth. Led by Rev. Dr. Doug Anderson, Executive Director of the Bishop Rueben Job Center for Leadership Development, participants will work with these key issues:
- administration and decision making
that strengthens and broadens the
church family
- family systems theory to assist in
understanding and respecting the
dynamics at work in a small church
- developing groups
- team leadership
- effective care
- the dynamics of multi-point charges
- impacts of growth
- skills and models
Dr. Anderson will return on May 6, 2009 for ongoing support in implementing the principles shared in the seminar, and for consultation on specific, practical questions and concerns. This follow-up session is offered at no additional charge to participants.
Lay/Clergy teams recommended.
