New Appointments
Bishop Paup has announced his intention to make the following appointments effective July 1:
Kathleen O'Connor, currently serving Custer and Nooksack Valley, to Highline UMC in Burien.
Gordy Hutchins, currently serving Kennydale UMC in Renton, to 6th Avenue UMC and St. Paul's UMC in Tacoma.
Tom Carlson, currently serving St. Peter's UMC in Bellevue, to Kennydale UMC in Tacoma.
Cynthia Wuts, currently Harrington and Rocklyn Zion, will continue to serve these two churches and take on added responsibility for Davenport Edwall.

Rev. John Mark Galang, a member of the Pampanga Annual Conference in the Philippines, to Beacon UMC in Seattle.
Rev. Jee Ahn, currently serving 6th Avenue UMC in Tacoma, to Fircrest UMC.
Seattle District Superintendent, Elaine Stanovsky, intends to assign Shalom Agtarap, recent graduate of Wesley School of Theology in Washington, D.C., as a Lay Person Assigned to Rainier Beach UMC in Seattle, pending her licensing as a Local Pastor.
Seven River District Co-Superintendent, Steve Schroeder, has assigned Monty Fields, Elizabeth Poplawski, and Tom Poplawski as Certfied Lay Ministers to Grand Coulee UMC, effective June 2, 2008.
Tacoma District Superintendent, Sharon Moe, intends to assign Janet Leonard as Lay Person Assigned to Whitney Memorial UMC in Puyallup.

Prayers Requested
Steve Tarr, current pastor of Simpson UMC in Pullman WA is mourning the loss of his mother, Lillian Tarr, who died this past week after suffering a stroke several weeks ago. She was a resident of Cardiff, Wales, UK. Please keep Steve and his family in your prayers.

Randall William Larson
July 18, 1920 - May 30, 2008
Randall William Larson, retired pastor, died May 30, 2008. He is survived by his spouse Helen at PO Box 1606, Sumner, WA 98390 as well as their 5 children: Donna Miley of Universal City, TX; Dixie Pommerelle of Puyallup, WA; Craig Larson of Tacoma, WA; Debbie Larson of Puyallup, WA and Pam Bone of Sumner, WA. He is also survived by their families, including 8 of his 9 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren.
Reverend Larson, along with his sweetheart Helen, served churches in Maryland and Montana before transferring to the Pacific Northwest Conference in 1958. He served the PNW Conference in the following appointments: Pasco; Puyallup; and Orting. Rev. Larson also served as an Adult Probation and Parole Officer from 1972 - 1981. He retired in 1985 and at the time of his death he was Chaplain at the Washington Soldier's Home in Orting, WA.
There will be a service of celebration through music and song on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Puyallup United Methodist Church, 1919 West Pioneer Ave, Puyallup, WA 98371. No flowers, please.

Several sessions have hit their maximum number of campers and are now closed. Others are filling fast. Just to let you know there is a DSO training scheduled at Lazy F on June 28.
Start time is 9:30am and we should be done by noon. There will be a continental type breakfast. Cost is $20 per person. People may download the registration form from the web or email us for a copy to be sent directly to them. Please register at least a week in advance so we can plan for materials and food for everyone. Memorial Service
Kay Marie Dean
July 21, 1935 - May 30, 2008
Kay Marie W. Dean, beloved spouse of retired pastor Earl Dean, died on May 30, 2008. She is survived by Rev. Earl Dean at PO Box 636, North Bend, WA 98045-0636, as well as her two children: Mark Horan of Boston, MA and Steven Horan, Cleveland Ohio.
Kay and Earl were married on June 5, 1982 and during their service together, Rev. Earl Dean was appointed to Snoqualmie and Sequim: Trinity. They retired in 1988.
A memorial service for Kay Marie Dean will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Snoqualmie United Methodist Church: 38701 SE River St., Snoqualmie, WA 98065.

Kletia M. Phillips
August 18, 1920 - May 31, 2008
Kletia M. Phillips, beloved spouse of retired pastor John Phillips, died on May 31, 2008. She is survived by Rev. John Phillips at 9102 Driftwood Cove NW, Gig Harbor, WA, 98332-6307, as well as four children: Diane Perkins of Gig Harbor, WA; Mark Phillips of Sandpoint, ID; Scott Phillips of Berkeley, CA and David Phillips of Snohomish, WA.
Kletia and John Phillips were married on August 15, 1943 and during their marriage together were appointed to the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, WA where Rev. Phillips served as a professor of New Testament. He retired in 1987.
A memorial service for Kletia M. Phillips will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Kilworth Chapel on the University of Puget Sound campus, on the corner of North 18th and Warner St, Tacoma, WA 98416.
