Bishop Paup has announced the following appointments:

Darrell Reeck (retired) to Footlhills UMC, Bonney Lake, effective October 1.

Joanne Carlson Brown currently serving United Church in University Place, to Tibbetts UMC in Seattle, effective Nov. 1.

Paul Jeffrey at Lazy Daze at Lazy F (for folks 55+).
September 25-27, 2007 (starts at noon, ends at 1 p.m.). Plan now to attend Lazy Daze at Lazy F! A relaxing time to be in fellowship with other older adults that includes structured time for worship, campfires, and interest sessions, but also time to take a nap, visit with friends, or take a walk. Featured presenter throughout the retreat is Paul Jeffrey, a missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries. Paul is a photographer and writes about the work of the church around the world as senior correspondent for Response, the magazine of United Methodist Women. After living in Central America for 20 years, Paul and his family moved to Eugene, Oregon, in 2004. His writing continues to focus on themes of how Christians and Christian communities struggle for justice and peace in the midst of repression, violence, and rapid economic and social change. A Celebration of Race, Pedagogy, and Community, with Keynote Speaker Dr. Leticia Nieto
Thursday, September 13: In September of 2006, the Pacific Northwest Annual Conference partnered with the University of Puget Sound, Boeing, Comcast, and other major sponsors to support an international Race and Pedagogy Conference at the University of Puget Sound. As a part of the one-year anniversary of the Conference, the University is proud to present Dr. Leticia Nieto. Dr. Nieto is a scholar, teacher and practitioner of psychology, and Associate Professor at St. Martin's University in Lacey, Washington. She is also the director and founder of True Story Theatre/Teatro de la Vida Real, a Latina improvisational company which works bilingually and biculturally using improvisational portrayals of audience members' personal stories. Tickets are free, and are available through the Information Center at the University of Puget Sound. The event is Thursday, 9/13/07, at 7PM in Schneebeck Concert Hall at the University. Pandemic Influenza Preparedness and Response for Healthcare Workers and Healthcare Employers

OSHA has released a new 104-page guide that addresses flu diagnosis and treatment, infection control, healthcare worker vaccination, personal protective equipment, preparedness planning, and OSHA standards. Puget Sound Health Ministries is offering a one-day retreat with The Rev. Dr. Kenneth Bakken on Saturday October 13, 2007 at Saint Andrew's Lutheran Church in Bellevue titled "Prayer Power:No Dropped Calls". The retreat is for Parish/Faith Community Nurses, Nurses, Clergy, Chaplains and Allied Health Providers, Health Educators, Health Ministers, Program Coordinators, Congregational Care Coordinators and other Healthcare Providers. Gulf Coast Mission Trips, January 13 and 20, 2008
Dulac, LA was hit by both Katrina and Rita, and then was missed by both recovery efforts. It is set among peaceful bayous southwest of New Orleans, in a Native American community whose culture is a world apart. Teams will arrive on Sunday and depart on Saturday morning, flying into New Orleans. We will be housed at the Dulac Community Center, in UMCOR- built bunkhouses. A deposit of $300 is required to hold a spot. Trip cost will be between $350-400, plus airfare. Contact Linda Bauer at 947-0482.
